Halifax, Nova Scotia-based Chorus Aviation Inc., the parent company of Jazz Aviation LP (“Jazz”), has placed a firm order for six Q400 NextGen airliners, according to a news release from Bombardier. CIT Announces Orders For 10 Airbus A330 Aircraft

Five Airplanes Added To An Order Placed Earlier This Year

Transportation finance company CIT Group announced from the Farnborough International Air Show (Air Show) Wednesday that CIT Aerospace has placed orders with Airbus for 10 A330 aircraft in 2012. Five A330 aircraft were ordered earlier this year in conjunction with the cancellation of orders for four A320 family aircraft and the exercise of an aircraft purchase option. An agreement to acquire the additional five aircraft was entered into at the Air Show Wednesday morning.

Accuses Aviation Giant Of Denying Smaller Company Its Day In Court

The Litigation Trustee for Alabama Aircraft Industries, Inc. (AAI), Joseph Ryan, announced Thursday that AAI, through its litigation trust, has this week responded to Boeing's appeal of the Delaware Bankruptcy Court's determination which permitted AAI's litigation in federal court in Alabama against Boeing to proceed. The Alabama litigation, being carried out through the Litigation Trust under the direction of the Litigation Trustee, seeks up to $100 million in damages from Boeing for fraudulent and unfair business practices.

In a sweeping forecast at Farnborough last week, Boeing officials warned of a coming worldwide pilot shortage ... saying airlines will need nearly half a million new pilots over the next 20 years, including 69,000 in North America alone.
