Major orders for both Boeing and Airbus at the top of the
Farnborough Air Show are indications of a strong economic recovery,
right? That is the opinion of the leadership for the two rival
plane makers, but analysts say it's not a sure thing.
Company Presents 20-year Forecast Of World Demand For 30- to
Embraer forecasts that the size of the world fleet of 30- to
120-seat jets will increase from 4,285 aircraft in 2009 to 7,780 in
2029. During this period, 51% of the new deliveries (3,495 units)
will be added to support current growth and 49% (3,380 units) will
be needed to replace aging equipment.
Air France says it was forced to cancel a flight from Rio to
Paris Sunday morning due to an electrical problem with the
airplane. The cancellation was the 4th incident involving an Air
France jet in South America in eight days.

With the Boeing 787 Dreamliner making its dramatic introduction
on the international stage, Boeing Commercial Airplanes President
and CEO Jim Albaugh said the company is working hard to stay ahead
of the competition as the market begins to rebound.
Airbus kicked off its 2010 Farnborough International Airshow
presence with sales announcements for 121 new single-aisle and
widebody aircraft Monday – which were led by major
acquisitions for A320 Family jetliners from two U.S.-based leasing
