An Iranian airliner went down in a field near Tehran about 16
minutes after takeoff Wednesday, killing all on board, according to
Iranian state television. The Russian-made aircraft was completely
destroyed, gouging what was described as a deep trench in the
ground.
Essential Air Service Approved For $53 Million Increase
A U.S. House of Representatives panel has increased funding for
the Essential Air Service, which makes airline and other travel
available to some of the more rural communities in the United
States. But money for the much-criticized program is far from a
done deal.
