A trio of families has gone to court in Dallas, TX, suing
American Airlines, its parent company, AMR Corp., and affiliate
Corporate Airlines in the aftermath of an October 2004 mishap in
which 13 people died.
Not at all happy at the prospect, World Trade Organization
officials Wednesday began the daunting task of sifting through a
dispute between the US and EU over subsidies to aircraft
manufacturers Boeing and Airbus.
Boeing and Spanish airline Air Europa have finalized an
agreement for the acquisition of 18 Boeing Next-Generation
737-800s. Air Europa first announced its intention to order the
airplanes, plus purchase rights for an additional 16, last month at
the Paris Air Show.
