A police captain at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport has been
sentenced to seven years in prison for his part in a double suicide
bombing that brought down two aircraft last August.
The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) announced Thursday it was raising Greece's
safety rating to the highest international safety category
following a reassessment of that country's civil aviation authority
conducted in May 2005.
LAN Airlines S.A. announced Wednesday that its Board of
Directors authorized the acquisition of 25 Airbus A318 and A319
aircraft. The company also signed up for 15 options for similar
aircraft.
