The Airplane Flies Its First Route The Day After Delivery
Airbus delivered the first A320 aircraft assembled at its Final
Assembly Line China (FALC) in Tianjin on Wednesday. At a grand
ceremony, the aircraft was handed over by Airbus President and CEO,
Tom Enders, to the Chairman of Dragon Aviation Leasing, Li Hai. The
aircraft will be leased to and operated by Sichuan Airlines.
10-Fold Increase in Real-Time Performance Predicted
Boeing and GE Aviation have jointly developed a simpler method
to implement condition-based maintenance systems on aircraft. It is
called the Open System Architecture for Condition-Based Maintenance
(OSA-CBM). This will become an industry standard, according to the
companies involved.
FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt Wednesday announced an
expedited review of flight and rest rules and called on U.S.
airlines and unions to respond, by July 31, with specific
commitments to strengthen safety at regional and major airlines by
insisting that airlines obtain all available FAA pilot records,
among other actions.
Dispatchers at Southwest Airlines, represented by the Transport
Workers Union (TWU), have raised “multiple safety
concerns” about Southwest Airlines flights to El Salvador for
major overhauls.
