Air travelers will be able to experience Emirates' first-ever
Airbus A380 on August 1, when the airline launches its first A380
commercial service from Dubai to New York JFK. The 14-hour non-stop
flight will also be the first-ever commercial A380 service to the
United States.
Boeing subsidiary Alteon Training announced Monday the
appointment of Allen Thompson as the company’s new chief
pilot and vice president of flight operations. Thompson’s
responsibilities include overseeing flight operations and Alteon
instructor pilots. He will report directly to chief operating
officer, Dr. Len Weber.

United Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants
announced last week the two sides agreed on a one-time opportunity
for eligible flight attendants to voluntarily separate from the
company, in hopes of culling the troubled carrier's employment
