They're some of the oldest aircraft in any domestic passenger
carrier's fleet... and soon, they'll be retired. Northwest Airlines
announced Wednesday that over the next seven months, it will
accelerate the retirement of its remaining 12 DC10-30 aircraft in
service.
As the French fume over the apparent looming departure of EADS
co-chair Noel Forgeard -- who is under fire for a stock sale just
before Airbus announced another delay in the A380 roll-out -- the
spotlight swings to another giant in the field of French
transportation.
After it was grounded back in April for safety reasons, Mexican
airline Aero California is back in the air with five of its 28
planes... but there's no word yet on when it will actually resume
scheduled service.
