Data Was Collected By A Research Aircraft That Flew 30 Hours
Through Ash Clouds
Honeywell said Thursday that it will be analyzing the
effects of ash ingestion in two of its TPE331 turboprop engines
which were used to gather scientific data during the recent
volcanic eruptions and flights into the subsequent ash cloud over
Europe.
One Advertised A Fare That Was Not Actually Available
The U.S. DOT assessed civil penalties against AirTran Airways
and Delta Air Lines on Friday for violating rules that require
airline price advertisements to disclose the full price consumers
must pay for air transportation. AirTran was fined $20,000
and Delta $40,000.
