There will be no new runway at Ted Stevens Anchorage
International Airport... at least not for a long while. Officials
announced late Thursday the project has been postponed
indefinitely, due in part to public outcry against the plan.
They both fought hard to win approval from the Department of
Transportation to begin service... but now, United Airlines and US
Airways want to postpone starting new routes to China for at least
a year, due to high fuel prices.
This week, Boeing released its 2008 Environment Report --
detailing its performance, strategy and actions to reduce its
environmental footprint and lead the aerospace industry with
environmentally progressive products and services.
