BTS Releases Fourth-Quarter 2006 System Airline Financial Data

A group of 21 selected passenger airlines reported a system operating profit margin of 2.6 percent in the fourth quarter, down from the third quarter but the largest fourth-quarter profit margin for this group since 1999, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) of the USDoT reported Monday in a release of preliminary data. The 21-carrier group consists of the seven largest network, low-cost and regional carriers based on operating revenue.

A Paramount Airways Embraer aircraft carrying 62 passengers and the crew overshot the runway during a landing attempt at Visakhapatnam Airport Saturday. Airline Investing in "Overall Travel Experience"

Delta Airlines and US Helicopter have teamed to provide an eight minute shuttle for customers traveling between Delta's hub at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and New York City Heliports in Midtown and Downtown Manhattan. Beginning May 14, Delta customers will have exclusive access to frequent helicopter service that operates between the two New York City heliports and Gate 11 at JFK Terminal 3, according to Delta.
