Last week, Aero-News reported that Boeing -- helped by a very strong showing
of its commercial aircraft division in the first quarter of 2006 --
took in 29 percent increase in profit over the same period in
2005. On Monday, Boeing announced its plans to
spend some of its cash -- by purchasing aerospace parts and
services provider Aviall, Inc.
The aviation business is a tough one these days... especially
for a new generation of pilots trying to work their way up the
ladder in the airline industry. It has been particularly difficult
for the latest generation of pilots for Mesaba Airlines, currently
operating under bankruptcy protection.
Representatives from Bearskin Lake Air Service Ltd. and the Air
Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) have announced that
they have reached a long term labour agreement, after five months
of negotiations.
