An American Airlines 767 will soon feature a new piece of
equipment designed to defend the airliner against missile attacks.
This plane and two others will be used by the Department of
Homeland Security to test the infrared laser-based systems.
Delta Airlines announced Thursday that it will discontinue seven
daily flights from the Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita starting
July 1st. The change has already raised questions and stressed
travelers.
Miami-Dade County Manager George Burgess hired Florida Secretary
of Transportation Jose Abreu as the new Aviation Director for the
county. The Friday announcement means that Abreu, 51, takes charge
of all of the county airports including Miami International Airport
starting July 11th.
