AFA-CWA Bestows Flight Crew With C.B. Lansing Award for
Heroism
The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA) honored the
eight Detroit-based flight attendants who successfully thwarted a
terrorist attack onboard Northwest flight 253 on December 25, 2009
with the prestigious C.B. Lansing Award for Heroism.
Forum Is The First To Be Held Outside Europe, More Than 50
Countries Participating
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is holding a second
International Cooperation Forum through Thursday. The Forum, hosted
by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is the first outside Europe.
DOT Fines Airline For Violations Of Denied Boarding
Compensation Rules
The U.S. DOT assessed a civil penalty against Southwest Airlines
Tuesday for violating federal rules regarding passengers denied
boarding ("bumped") on oversold flights.
The FAA has proposed a $348,000 civil penalty against Chautauqua
Airlines for allegedly operating some of its regional jets without
performing inspections required by five different FAA airworthiness
directives (ADs).
