Recognizes SESAR's Success In Raising Awareness For The Information Management Program
The SESAR Joint Undertaking and its members have won this year’s HIS Jane’s ATC Award for outreach work on System Wide Information Management (SWIM), which led to an unprecedented number of Air Traffic Management (ATM) stakeholders becoming engaged in the goal of making SWIM a reality.
Honeywell Aerospace's SmartPath Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS), which reduces weather-related delays, lowers air traffic noise, improves flight efficiency and increases airport capacity simultaneously, has been selected by the U.K. Department for International Development for St Helena's airport, due to open in 2016.
Systems To Be Expanded To 23 Airports Around The Country
In the run up to the FIFA World Cup this year, and the Olympics in 2016, air traffic management company SITA is working with the Comissão de Implantação do Sistema de Controle do Espaço Aéreo (CISCEA) in its drive to upgrade Brazil’s air traffic management technology. CISCEA is the body responsible for developing and implementing new technologies for DECEA, the Brazilian Air Navigation Service Provider.
