Commercialization Of Alternative Aviation Fuels Takes A Step Forward
Airbus has joined a consortium including Virgin Australia to study a new pathway to produce sustainable aviation fuels. Eucalyptus mallee trees, grown in Western Australia’s wheat belt are sustainably harvested and converted to a feedstock for refining into alternative aviation fuel via a process called Pyrolysis.
Aircraft To Boost Travel To And From Faroe Islands
The national carrier of the Faroe Islands Atlantic Airways has taken delivery of an Airbus A319 as part of its plan to increase its capacity, while becoming Airbus’ newest operator. The aircraft, equipped with CFM engines,is configured in a single economy class layout with 144 seats. It will be deployed on route from Faroe Islands to Copenhagen, Denmark.
