Despite ongoing financial woes for several domestic airlines,
more people are flying in their planes today than in any time since
9/11... and it's only going to get better. Or, worse... depending
on which side of the curtain you're on.
Boeing announced Thursday it has selected Goodrich Corporation
to supply the flight deck lighting system and cabin attendant
seating for the 787 Dreamliner. In all, 11 Dreamliner contracts
have been awarded to the global systems supplier.
After two weeks of mediated discussions between the FAA and the
National Air Traffic Controllers Association, the two parties still
have not reached a mutual understanding over contract issues. On
Wednesday, the FAA asked for more time.
We don't want you to run our ports... but please still buy our
aircraft. That's the mixed message the government of the United
Arab Emirates is receiving, in the wake of the US ports
debacle... and it may wind up costing Boeing some big bucks.
Pilots Meet This Week For Elections, Seniority Concerns
US Airways announced Tuesday it will recall approximately 400
flight attendants that had been laid off. The move comes as the
airline gears up for what it hopes will be a very busy summer
travel season.
