But There's Little Incentive For Pilots To Come Back
Faced with a continued shortage of qualified pilots -- and in
light of recent passage of the "Age 65" rule governing airline
pilot retirements -- several carriers are reportedly going after
retired pilots, hoping to lure them back into the cockpit for a few
more years.

Delays in production of its upcoming 787 Dreamliner have been a
bane for Boeing... but, perhaps, they've also been something of a
blessing, giving the beleaguered jetmaker time to "fine tune"
several systems on the aircraft.
This week, Primaris Airlines, Inc. and Americasia Holdings
Limited announced the signing of a contract for an initial funding
of almost $100 million for what the carrier says will be a new
higher-service, lower-cost "professional class" scheduled airline
between the East and West Coasts of the United States -- and,
ultimately, across the Pacific to Asia.
The FAA will not require Alaska Airlines to make any changes to
its fleet of Boeing 737-400s, following four emergency landings by
three 737-400 Combis in January.
