SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2008-26-08
SUMMARY: We are adopting a new airworthiness directive
(AD) for the products listed above. This AD results from mandatory
continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an
aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an
unsafe condition on an aviation product.
The December '08 holiday travel season will likely go down in
the books as one of the more troublesome for airline passengers
around the country. In addition to horror stories of people camped
out in terminals nationwide due to weather-related delays and
cancellations, at least four jets will likely be out of commission
for awhile following relatively minor incidents Wednesday.
We might be witnessing the dawn of a new era for Southwest
Airlines... one in which the successful airline needs to be
especially creative to hold onto its streak of
profitability.

to ease their guilt about polluting the environment by flying on a
commercial airliner. It probably won't surprise you to hear that

Air Canada announced this week it has concluded a series of
agreements for secured financings with General Electric Capital
Corporation (GECC) and its affiliates, providing the airline with
up to $195 million US, or approximately C$238 million.
