Category 2 Classification "Not Related To Security Issues"
On Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) changed
Israel's aviation safety standard rating to Category 2 following an
assessment made last July of the country's civil aviation
authority. The agency pointedly noted the rating "is not related to
security issues."

The National Transportation Safety Board is concerned that
Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP) have recently been discontinued by some
major air carriers.
Bombardier Aerospace announced Tuesday LAM-Mozambique (Linhas
Aéreas de Moçambique) will take delivery of a
previously owned Q400 high-speed turboprop airliner this week, and
will acquire another in the near future.
