Trial Will Help Address 'Social And Etiquette Issues'
British carrier bmi has become the first British carrier to
offer its passengers an inflight communications service including
the use of SMS-enabled mobile phones and PDAs (personal digital
assistants). It will also allow access to the internet and email
from laptop computers fitted with GSM data cards... but won't allow
voice calls, out of concern for passenger privacy issues.

Victims confirmed this weekend that Rosane Gutjhar, widow of one of
the victims of the September 2006 downing of Gol flight 1907, filed
suit for damages for pain and suffering against New York Times
journalist Joe Sharkey.

Sunday, a China Southern Airlines B737 touched down at Taipei
Songshan Airport in Taiwan, marking the first time a scheduled
airline flight has operated between mainland China and the

E-Jet -- an Embraer 170 -- to France’s Regional-Compagnie
Aérienne Européenne. The handover ceremony took place
at the company’s São José dos Campos, Brazil,
headquarters, a short six months after the 400th E-Jet was
delivered in June 2008.
