ago, will be flown home across the Atlantic in high style aboard a

It's official -- President Bush Wednesday signed into law a new
transportation bill, containing a provision exempting Missouri from
the burdens of Wright Amendment -- a decades-old piece of
compromise legislation restricting flights from Dallas' Love Field
to states bordering on Texas... as well as Mississippi, Kansas, and
Alabama.
Judge Also Rules Northwest Can Reject Plane Leases
Northwest Airlines reported Wednesday the carrier has lost a
combined $346 million during the first six weeks of operating under
Chapter 11 bankruptcy. A US bankruptcy court judge
also allowed the carrier to reject leases on 15
Canadair CRJ-200 regional jets that were part of commuter operator
Pinnacle Airlines' fleet.
Bellview Airlines has compensated at least 30 families who lost
relatives in the October 22 downing of one of the Nigerian
airline's 737-200s, according to local media reports. The airline
has also agreed to drill two new wells in the villages where the
wreckage fell.
An anonymous Transportation Security Administration official
told the Pittsburgh Tribune Review earlier this week that
TSA chief Kip Hawley is expected Friday to announce changes to the
list of prohibited items allowed in carry-on baggage and to the
airport screening process. Small scissors and tools are among the
items expected to be let back onboard, to the consternation of
flight attendants -- and, those with body piercings.
