The 49-year old pilot of a Cessna 208 radioed controllers in
Winnipeg Thursday that her "wings were icing up" -- just moments
before the aircraft crashed in a freight yard, killing her.
It's just what the world needed -- another dispute between the
European Union and the US regarding airplane manufacturers. This
time, however, the dispute doesn't center on government subsidies
to manufacturers. It's all about the airplane -- the Airbus A380 --
itself and the wake it could generate while in flight, as well as
the jet blast it could generate while on the ground.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then Lorrie Heasley's
was worth 1003. But it was those last three words that got her
booted from a Southwest Airlines flight from Los Angeles to
Portland Tuesday and now, she's suing the airline.
Airline Wants $325 Million In Pilot Pay Concessions
On the same day it secured a total of $1.9 billion in
debtor-in-possession financial backing, Delta Air Lines announced
it will take the issue of pilot pay concessions to the bankruptcy
courts, if necessary, in the beleaguered airline's quest to emerge
from Chapter 11.
