The U.S Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation
Security Administration (TSA) and the St. Lucian Ministry of
Tourism and Civil Aviation announced today a plan to enhance
aviation security on the Caribbean island nation.
It's been all the rage of late... bio-fuel this, green-flight
that. But, apparently the US Carriers haven't quite caught up with
the hype... that is, until this Wednesday.Continental Airlines
tells ANN that will conduct the first biofuel-powered demonstration
flight of a U.S. commercial airliner.
Pilots overwhelmingly approve wage, benefit concessions
Members of the Frontier Airline Pilots Association (FAPA) have
ratified a long-term labor agreement with the airline. The
agreement will extend certain wage and benefit concessions through
December 2011. Nearly 85 percent of votes cast were in favor of
ratification. Of the 454 votes cast, 384 voted yes, only 70 voted
no.
An Islamic civil rights and advocacy group has filed a complaint
with the DOT following an incident Thursday in which nine Muslim
passengers were removed from an AirTran Airways flight at Ronald
Reagan Washington National Airport.
