Continental Airlines pilots, represented by ALPA, tell ANN that
they are pressing for a 'renewed focus on negotiations for a new
contract.' The pilots' contract becomes amendable as of Dec. 31,
2008. Negotiations for a new contract first began back in July
2007.
2008 was a year flooded with events impacting the airline
industry. Strikes, layoffs, cutbacks, high fuel prices, mergers -
you name it - nearly every curve that could be thrown at an
industry, was.
Be it ignorance, arrogance or just plain incompetence, these
were the folks or topics that made our lot a whole lot more
difficult and immeasurably injured the aviation world in the past
year.
Shame on those issues, folks, or groups that made our lot so
much tougher in 2008...

asserts that, 'Despite vocal opposition from a bipartisan Florida
Congressional delegation to the Federal Aviation Administration's
ill-conceived plan to separate radar and tower functions at Orlando
