Bomb-Sniffers To Be Deployed At 40 Busiest Airports
By the end of spring, advanced bomb-detection equipment known as
"puffer machines" will be deployed at as many as 40 of the nation's
busiest airports, the TSA announced Monday.
As their contracted Sea-Tac ground crews receive additional
training on the importance of telling someone when you accidentally hit an aircraft with your
luggage cart, the FAA has proposed a half-million
dollar fine against Alaska Airlines for flying an aircraft for two
weeks without required emergency lighting -- and then going an
additional two weeks with the wrong parts.

It sure does seem we're seeing a lot of ramp incidents at
airports across the nation (not just at Sea-Tac) lately... but we
weren't expecting one of our correspondents to be on an aircraft
that had an unexpected encounter with an unfortunately-placed ramp
van at George Bush/Houston Intercontinental on Monday.
