Satellite Supports Civil Weather And Climate Measurements
On behalf of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration, NASA has awarded a sole source contract for the
Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS-1) spacecraft to Ball Aerospace
& Technologies Corp. in Boulder, CO.
The Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) satellite and ground
system built by Ball Aerospace and Boeing have completed final
testing and are scheduled to be launched September 25 from
Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, CA.
Some Nations Already Committee To ISS Operations Through
2020
The International Space Station partner agencies met September
21st via videoconference to discuss continuation of space station
operations into the next decade and its use as a research
laboratory.
