Says $20.2 Billion Package Reaffirms Commitment To Space,
Aeronautics Research
The NASA Authorization Act of 2008, which cleared Congress on
Saturday, provides much needed funding for space programs and
aeronautics research and development and gives the next
administration a clear sense of congressional support for the
future of the agency. That's the word from former FAA Administrator
Marion Blakey, now the President and CEO of the Aerospace
Industries Association.
NASA plans to update its National Aviation Operations Monitoring
Service, or NAOMS, website Tuesday, to add more information from
pilot survey responses.
New Problem Will Add New Tasks To Already Complicated
Mission
NASA will delay its mission to the Hubble Space Telescope until
next year, after the orbiting observatory suffered a failure of its
command and data-handling system Saturday night.
NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander has detected snow falling from
Martian clouds. Spacecraft soil experiments also have provided
evidence of past interaction between minerals and liquid water,
processes that occur on Earth.
