The fourteenth tropical depression of the Atlantic Ocean
hurricane season formed in the far eastern Atlantic Ocean today,
Friday, Sept. 28th, bringing three active storms in the Atlantic in
one week.
In preparation for a targeted Oct. 23 launch, Discovery is set
to roll from the Vehicle Assembly Building out to the Launch Pad
39A aboard the crawler transporter this weekend. Earlier in the
week, the orbiter was attached to the external fuel tank and twin
solid rocket boosters atop the mobile launch platform.
Mission Has Lasted Over 14 Times Longer Than Planned
NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity has reached its
science team's first destination for the rover inside Victoria
Crater, information received from Mars late Tuesday confirms.
