NASA has selected seven companies to integrate and fly technology payloads on commercial suborbital reusable platforms that carry payloads near the boundary of space. Advanced Scientific Concepts' New Imaging System Tested On STS-133

A lightweight, small form factor DragonEye integrated 3D FLC (Flash LIDAR Camera) is now ready to launch aboard upcoming space explorations, according to Advanced Scientific Concepts, Inc. (ASC). Designed especially for Automated Rendezvous and Docking (AR&D) and On-orbit Satellite Servicing (OSS), it was most recently tested on the STS-133 Discovery in February 2011 and has been listed as Technical Readiness Level (TRL) of 8.

NASA held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new $1.7 million Hydro Impact Basin facility at NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA, Tuesday morning. The new water basin is located at the historic gantry, where Neil Armstrong first trained to walk on the moon.
