NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center was closed Friday, Aug. 29,
due to the approach of Hurricane Gustav. Normal operations at the
facility are expected to resume when conditions permit. Public
tours to StenniSphere, the visitor center, from the Launch Pad at
the I-10 Welcome Center in Hancock County, were also suspended
Friday.

NASA tells ANN that over the last couple of days, the
forecast track of Tropical Storm Hanna has changed. Several days
ago, the forecast models were taking her on a possible track toward
Florida, now, forecast models agree that she'll be taking a
southeast track toward Cuba.
In response to preliminary reports that possibly point Hurricane
Gustav toward the Gulf Coast of the United States, Air Force
officials are postured to support relief efforts, if needed.
Hurricane Gustav, which formed Aug. 25 about 260 miles southeast of
Haiti, is the third hurricane of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane
season. On Aug. 27, the hurricane was moving away from Haiti.
