OSHCast 2008 Aero-TV Daily Update: Day Three!

Welcome to Aero-TV's Daily Update from EAA AirVenture Oshkosh for Wednesday, July 30th, 2008.

It was not certain the new Cirrus Vision SJ-50 jet which only recently made its first flight, would have completed early testing in time for Oshkosh. But by opening day it was confirmed the jet would be here on Wednesday. Then, when it arrived, the surprise was compounded by the announcement that Cirrus has received its first fleet order.

It took a lot of hard work from ANN's Rob Finfrock, a fair amount of NOT-normally available spare time, a dedicated instructor, a good LSA (the Gobosh 700S), and some wheeling and dealing from ANN, but we're happy to present the welcome details of Rob Finfrock's successful pursuit of a Sport Pilot's License.

NASA's Griffin Tells Forum Crowd There Are No Guarantees In Space Travel

"This IS Rocket Science -- If We Knew How To Do It, It Wouldn't Be Exploration"

Attendees at AirVenture 2008 had the opportunity Tuesday afternoon to ask questions of NASA Administrator Dr. Michael Griffin. He acknowledged the agency's 2008 celebration of their 50th anniversary and indicated to the audience that he'd rather discuss their questions about the future than expound upon the past. Somewhat surprisingly, many of the audience questions focused on NASA's plans for space, versus issues associated with civil aviation.
