NASA: Phoenix Won't Rise As Scheduled On Friday

Mars Lander Launch Delayed 24 Hours

NASA announced Tuesday this week's scheduled launch of NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket has been postponed 24 hours. The two available launch times on Saturday, August 4 are 5:26:34 am, and 6:02:59 am EDT.

Astronaut Joe Engle Visits AirVenture 2007

Tells Of Adventures In X-15, Shuttle

Major General Joe Engle detailed his adventures in the X-15 and Space Shuttle Projects recently at AirVenture 2007. Engle -- who has amassed 11,000 flight hours, 200 of which were in space -- flew in the space shuttles Enterprise, Columbia, and Discovery. He recounted the advances made with the two aircraft, as well as his personal experiences in them.
