Masten Space Systems tells ANN that they have completed their
first vertical take-off, vertical-landing (VTVL) rocket flight
demonstration. The demonstration proved out the design and controls
of the 730lb rocket-powered vehicle, known as XA-0.1B-750 or
“Xombie”, its internal nickname.

So far, so good... unless you count the fact that Atlantis took
a bit of a hit less than two minutes into Monday's launch, while
starting its mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.
Slow going... that's what's been happening as the five wheels
that still rotate on NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit have been
slipping severely in soft soil during recent attempts to drive. The
