Third Powered Flight Sets New Records

SpaceDev's hybrid rocket motor technology successfully propelled SpaceShipOne on its third, and record-breaking, manned flight on May 13, 2004. SpaceShipOne accelerated to record setting altitudes and speed, both higher than in previous powered flights, thus bringing the Scaled Composites team a step closer to winning the $10 million Ansari X-Prize.

GE Subsidiary Merges into Unison Industries

Unison Now Owns Elano 

Unison Industries says it has merged with Elano Corporation. Elano will operate as a division of Unison Industries and will report to Unison’s management team. Elano is located in Dayton, Ohio and also operates facilities in Canada and Thailand. Initially, Elano will continue to operate under the Elano name, but will eventually become a part of the Unison Industries brand.
