Will Use Gravity Boost To Rendezvous With Asteroid
With Valentine's Day approaching in the US Saturday, now's the
time when one's thoughts turn to matters of the heart... and it
appears NASA's Dawn spacecraft is "falling" hard for Mars. (OK,
it's a stretch, but bear with us here --

The first US Air Force Milstar communications satellite achieved
15 years of on-orbit operations this week. Five years beyond its
original design life, manufacturer Lockheed Martin reports the
satellite remains fully mission-capable, providing secure
communications to US and Allied Forces around the globe for years
to come.
Event Shows Need For Better Information Sharing, 'Space
Situational Awareness'
Wednesday's collision of two communication satellites has left a
debris pattern that may affect future space operations, the vice
chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said at a symposium in
Washington, DC co-sponsored by the George C. Marshall Institute and
the US Chamber of Commerce's Space Enterprise Council.
