NASA has signed a $465.7 million contract modification with
Lockheed Martin, New Orleans, for space shuttle external tanks. The
modification aligns and extends all activities associated with the
production contract for the tanks to the launch schedule for the
space shuttle's retirement date of 2010.
Boeing has been chosen by the Air Force to build another SATCOM
satellite by exercizing an option for a sixth Wideband Global
SATCOM (WGS) satellite. The Commonwealth of Australia is funding
the procurement as part of a cooperative agreement between the U.S.
and Australian governments. The satellite is expected to launch in
the fourth quarter of 2012.
