Colonel Scott Henderson Tapped As Director Of Mission Assurance
And Integration
Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) announced Monday that
Colonel Scott Henderson has joined the company. He will serve as
the director of Mission Assurance and Integration and will also
handle Florida external relations, assisting with state and local
governmental, customer and media relations.
Lighter Penalties Assessed As Evidence Was Thrown Out
Former astronaut Lisa Nowak, who had faced charges of attempted
kidnapping, burglary, and battery, pleaded guilty Tuesday to lesser
charges of felony burglary of a car and a battery misdemeanor in an
agreement reached with prosecutors.
The FAA has posted the TFR for the launch for Space Shuttle
Atlantis on November 16th. The launch window extends from 1423 -
1422 EST, and the Cape Canaveral TFR will be in effect from 0723
until no later than 1519 EST on Monday, November 16, 2009.
NASA And Spaceward Foundation Award Prize Money For Successful
Wireless Power Demonstration
NASA has awarded $900,000 in prize money to a Seattle company
that successfully demonstrated new wireless energy beaming
technology which could one day be used to help power a "space
elevator." LaserMotive of Seattle was awarded the money after its
performance in the Power Beaming Challenge competition.
