NASA recently sponsored a series of flights from Ellington Field
in Houston to test technologies in reduced-gravity conditions. The
flights marked the third year of operations for NASA's Facilitated
Access to the Space Environment for Technology program, called
FAST.
NASA astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian cosmonauts Alexander
Kaleri and Oleg Skripochka launched to the International Space
Station aboard their Soyuz TMA-01M spacecraft at 0510 local time
Friday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The Russian Space Agency Roscosmos says that the Soyuz TMA-20
spacecraft which is intended to transport a crew to the ISS in
December was damaged in trasport to the Baikonur cosmodrome in
Kazakhstan.
