Commander Peggy Whitson and Cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko of the
16th International Space Station crew are scheduled to launch from
the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at about 0920 EDT on October
10, to begin a six-month stay in space.
The upcoming 2007 Wirefly X Prize Cup is the first ever Air
& Space Expo with "live" fire/fly demonstrations and
competitions. The X Prize Foundation and Holloman Air Force Base
have teamed up for this historic event -- and event organizers tell
ANN not a moment will go by where an airplane or rocket is not
taking off or landing.
Aero-News learned this weekend noted aviation enthusiast and
commercial pilot -- and Academy Award-winning actor -- Cliff
Robertson will receive the 2007 National Aeronautic
Association (NAA) Wesley L. McDonald Elder Statesman of Aviation
Award on October 29.
