Work Gets Underway On Construction-Intensive STS-120
NASA reports STS-120 Mission Specialists Scott Parazynski and
Doug Wheelock wrapped up the first of five planned spacewalks
Friday afternoon. During the six-hour, 14-minute excursion, the
STS-120 and Expedition 16 crews successfully installed the Harmony
module in a temporary location on the International Space Station,
and prepared the P6 truss for its relocation.

The playing field of the Rocket Racing League doubles in size
Friday, and goes international as three new teams announce their
acceptance into the League -- bringing a total of six teams primed
to compete in the Rocket Racing League's inaugural season. Rocket
Star Racing, Team Extreme Rocket Racing and Canada-based Beyond
Gravity Rocket Racing join existing teams Bridenstine Rocket
Racing, Santa Fe Racing and Thunderhawk Rocket Racing.
Space Shuttle Discovery and the STS-120 crew arrived at the
International Space Station at 0840 EDT Thursday, delivering a new
module and crew member to the orbital outpost. After the hatches
between the station and shuttle opened at 1039, the two crews
exchanged greetings and went to work preparing for almost nine days
of joint operations.

45th Anniversary
The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and the Astronaut
Scholarship Foundation are hosting the "Back to the 60’s
Barbeque" on Friday, November 2, 2007. It's a tribute to the 45th
Anniversary of the Mercury program, and celebrates the opening of
