Spy Satellite Rides Into Orbit Atop High-Lift Booster
United Launch Alliance's Delta IV Heavy rocket carrying a
payload for the National Reconnaissance Office successfully lifted
off from Space Launch Complex 37 at CCAFS at 9:47 pm EST Saturday,
transporting a US Air Force reconnaissance satellite into
orbit.
Administrator Michael Griffin, head of the National Aeronautics
and Space Administration since 2005, said goodbye to fellow
employees Friday in a live broadcast from NASA headquarters in
Washington, DC.
Says Its Proposal Represented Better Value Than Other
Contractors
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration has been
compelled to suspend last month's contract awards to two companies
for cargo missions to the International Space Station, after a
third filed a complaint with the US Government Accountability
Office.
