Brazils second-largest helicopter operator (by fleet size) is about to add 2 new Sikorsky 76C++ aircraft to its fleet. Milestone Aviation Group has partnered with Omni Taxi Aereo of Brazil to provide 100% lease financing for the addition the helos in a deal worth $23 million at retail prices.

Classic Aero-TV: A Pitts With Some History - Ed McCaskill's Pitts S1S

ANN news editor Tom Patton had a chance to talk with Ed McCaskill, the pilot and owner of a Pitts S1s. The original S-1 Pitts Special was designed by Curtis Pitts in 1944. The aircraft was popularized by Betty Skelton, Caro Bailey and other airshow performers, which led to offering plans to build the airplane in 1962. As the Pitts S1 gained popularity, requests were made to improve its inverted flight capabilities. A symmetrical airfoil was designed and added to the airplane. The designation was changed to S-1s to indicate that this airplane had the symmetrical airfoil.

FAA Approves CAE e-Learning For 'No Classroom' Helicopter Ground School

Courses Offered For Initial And Recurrent Training

The FAA has granted approval to CAE to deliver the pilot training ground school for the Eurocopter AS350 helicopter through a CAE Simfinity e-Learning program, enabling pilots to reduce their time at the training centre for both initial and recurrent training. The announcement came Wednesday at the Helitech Europe conference.
