The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today fined JetBlue Airways $50,000 for violating federal aviation laws and the Department’s rules prohibiting deceptive price advertising in air travel. “When passengers shop for an airline ticket, they have a right to know the full price they will have to pay,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

Sikorsky Helitech, a Sikorsky Aerospace Services company based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, has announced the signing of an agreement with FlightSafety International to provide maintenance training for customers in the Asia Pacific area. The three-year agreement is the first of its kind to offer Pratt & Whitney Canada Aircraft Engine maintenance training in the region.

'It Was Gadhafi Who Handed Over Libyan Citizens'

Any thoughts that the new government being set up by Libyan rebels will work better with the west are fading. Last week, the rebels announced their new constitution will be based on the principles of Sharia law. Urges FAA To Step Up Implementation Of New Air Traffic Procedures

Airline industry trade group ATA issued a call Monday for the FAA to accelerate its timetable for implementing new and more efficient air traffic procedures, a key pillar of a needed National Airline Policy. "Near-term FAA action will help government focus on priorities that can provide immediate economic – and importantly – customer-service benefits," said ATA President and CEO Nicholas E. Calio in a speech to the Boyd Group International Aviation Forecast Summit.
