AEA 2004 Convention Draws Near

Booths Already Sold Out

The Aircraft Electronics Association's 47th Annual International Convention and Trade Show is just a few weeks ago and selling like hot cakes. With over 220 booth spaces filled and registrations reaching close to 1,300, the show is expected to be the biggest turn-out ever. Hundreds of manufacturers of avionics, instruments, airframe and test equipment along with shop owners, managers and technicians will be coming to the 2004 convention, which will be held March 29th through April 1st at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. Best of all, as the Official DAILY News Service for the event, ANN will provide extensive coverage in addition to exhibiting on the convention floor. Stop by booth#333 and say hello!

The Convention and Trade Show is dedicated to providing those in the avionics industry with the chance to participate, network and extract valuable information to boost their business. There will be hundreds of ideas presented at informative sessions-offering more than 25 hours of learning opportunities in just three days.

Some of the features will include:

Fast-Trak Seminars will be offered the opening day of convention. These seminars, taking place on Monday, March 29, will offer a choice of two eight-hour or four four-hour in-depth workshops in the morning and four four-hour workshops in the afternoon.

Regulatory Panels are always some of the most intense sessions on the program, as FAA, Transport Canada, EASA and other regulatory agencies are invited to discuss the latest regulations. These sessions will include an overview of recent regulatory and legislative activity in Washington; regulations and policies affecting maintenance facilities, air carriers and personnel; and overview of the FAA's new FITS program; RVSM maintenance; a question and answer session with FAA officials; and more.

Technical Workshops on new equipment installations, troubleshooting, service and repair, and sales techniques will be offered by 20 manufacturers and distributors throughout the convention.

New Product Introductions with a record-breaking number of new products being introduced: 30-allow manufacturers to showcase their latest and greatest equipment. Attendees will get an up-close look at what their customers will be asking for in the future.

Convention-goers should be prepared to enjoy a spectacular night of fun and excitement at the First Nighter Party on Monday, March 29. AEA will take ticket holders to the Blue Man Group performance-a show that revolve around percussion, lights, the creation of art, comedy and a high degree of interactivity with the audience. And at the center of it all are the three seemingly identical Blue Men painted bright blue.

The AEA Educational Foundation's Silent Auction is also off to a great start. There will be a variety of items to bid on-some aviation-related and some not. The auction will benefit the Educational Foundation, which provides over $100,000 in scholarships each year.

The Desert Pines Golf Club will be the setting for the Lowell Gaylor Memorial Golf Tournament on Sunday, March 28. The course is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. Thousands of mature pine trees line the fairways; white sand bunkers protect large, undulating greens with water coming into play on 9 out of 18 holes.
