NBAA Announces New Scholarship

Program To Benefit Michigan Students

Students in Michigan will appreciate a new program, by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), which is making collegiate studies a very worthwhile endeavor.

The organiation, in conjunction with corporate sponsor Avfuel Corporation, will offer the Avfuel Michigan Business Aviation Scholarship to benefit a student pursuing an aviation degree at an eligible Michigan college or university. One $500 award will be granted annually.

This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student who is officially enrolled in an aviation-related program at any of the following Michigan schools: Andrews University, Eastern Michigan University, Lansing Community College, Northwestern Michigan College and Western Michigan University.

To be eligible for the 2004 Avfuel Michigan Business Aviation Scholarship, the applicant must be currently enrolled in an aviation-related program as a graduate student or undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Proof of enrollment must be provided prior to distribution of the award, and application forms must be accompanied by:

  • An official transcript
  • A 250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing the applicant's interest in and goals for a career in the business aviation industry
  • A letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • A resume

Completed applications and required documents must be postmarked no later than Monday, August 9, 2004, to be considered for the scholarship.
