"He's too heavy to land here. The runway is long enough for that airplane -- it's designed for short runways -- but our runways won't support the weight of that type of aircraft."

Source: Tim Beggerly, airport manager at the Ben Epps Field in Athens, GA. Students at nearby University of Georgia were awoken last week to the distinctive sounds of a C-17 Globemaster II transport plane that made several low passes over the airport.
