Calling All ATPs: Airlines Looking To Recruit Pilots At ATL Job Fair

May 20 Event Also Offers Seminars, Prizes

AirTran, FedEx and JetBlue are among the airlines recruiting pilots during AIR, Inc.'s Airline Pilot Job Fair, Career Seminar & Airline Forum in Atlanta, GA, Saturday, May 20 at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center.

More than 400 prospective pilots seeking airline employment will meet with the 75+ recruiters from over 20 major, national, regional, fractional, and crew leasing airlines attending the job fair who are seeking qualified and experienced pilots.

AIR Inc. reports more than 10,300 new airline pilot jobs were created in 2005. The company forecasts approximately 10,500 new airline pilot jobs for 2006. The major airlines forecast hiring 2,500 pilots in their sector alone.

Airlines currently signed on to recruit pilots during the job fair include: Majors: AirTran, FedEx, JetBlue, UPS; Nationals: AirNet Express, American Eagle, ASA, Pinnacle, SkyWest, World Airways; Jet & Non-Jet Operators: Island Air, USA Jet Airlines; Fractionals: Avantair, CitationShares, FlexJet; Foreign: Cathay Pacific, Emirates Air; Crew Leasing: IASCO, Rishworth Aviation; Other: CAE Simuflite.

More airlines are expected to attend. A current list of participating airlines can be found at the FMI link below.

The seminar is designed to assist civilian, commercial, and military pilots in their pursuit of an airline pilot career by providing them with information on the airline pilot job market, job search planning, written tests, simulator check rides, and employment medical exams.

There will be valuable prizes, as well. PanAm Flight Academy, headquartered in Miami, FL has donated an A-320 Type Rating, valued at $12,000, to be given away to an attendee during the seminar in ATL. Higher Power Aviation, a Part 142 training center based in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, has donated a choice of a free B-727, B-737, or MD80 SIC Course, valued at $4,250, to also be given away.

During the airline forum, attendees will learn first-hand from airline recruiters what their future hiring plans are and what the airlines are looking for in their applicants. The job fair provides an opportunity for the attendees to deliver their resumes personally and meet one-on-one with key airline recruiters, possibly schedule an interview... and maybe even interview at the seminar.
