PC-12 NG Chosen For Satellite Transport Mission

Single-Engine Turboprop's Unique Capabilities Cited

Pilatus Business Aircraft, Ltd. says a charter operator of its PC-12 single-engine turboprop, Mayo Aviation, was recently contracted to move a one-of-a-kind satellite across the USA.

Speaking from Mayo Aviation headquarters in Englewood, CO, William Mayo III explained, “When we were first contacted to discuss the specific requirements we quickly realized that the payload, range and cargo loading capabilities of our PC-12 NG were a truly unique combination ideally suited to this task.” Mayo Aviation delivered the sensitive high value space cargo on schedule despite encountering significant weather en route.

Introduced in 1994, the PC-12 offers the capability to take off from and land on short, grass airstrips, the largest cabin in this class at nine seats, and range of up to 1,560 nm. During the last 16 years, over 1,000 PC-12s have been sold worldwide.

Thomas Bosshard, CEO of Pilatus Business Aircraft, Ltd. commented, “With more than 30 years of flawless service to customers across the globe, Mayo Aviation continues their rich history in the air charter and air medical fields. We are absolutely delighted to see them expand their fleet with additional PC-12 aircraft, giving them the ability to accomplish unique missions such as this.”

Pilatus says its PC-12 NG offers a class leading combination of efficiency, performance and versatility which has enabled it to hold exceptional market share despite the continued economic uncertainty, and calls the single turbine a "cost effective and highly defensible business travel solution."
