No One Is Losing Their Job At United Over Dragged Passenger Incident

Internal Investigation Is Expected To Be Wrapped Up By The End Of The Month

United Airlines has no plans to fire anyone over an incident in which a passenger was dragged from a United Express flight, according to CEO Oscar Munoz.

USA Today reports that Munoz said that there may be policy changes at the airline after it concludes an internal investigation, likely by the end of this month. The airline faced a firestorm of criticism over the incident, even though it was Chicago Airport Police who bodily dragged Dr. David Dao from the airplane.

The officers have been placed on administrative leave, according to the report.

But because the incident was a "systemic problem", no one will lose their job. From the rank-and file workers up to Munoz himself, everyone is safe.

Munoz takes responsibility for the incident. "The buck stops here," he said, but added "It was a system failure across various areas. No, there was never a consideration for firing an employee or anyone around it."
